Last Sunday, our IMYO members attended workshops with members of the Army Band and the Meliora String Quartet in the music department of Technological University of the Shannon in Athlone.

Huge thanks to Capt. William Chester, and players Martin, Francesca, Padraig, Jack and Andrea of the Defense Forces Band of the 2 Brigade, who gave focused workshops to our wind, brass and percussion sections. Meanwhile, the Meliora String Quartet – Cillian, Sean, Kseniia and Alina (former IMYO memeber!) – worked with the strings. The day culminated in a musical sharing of all the pieces that we had worked on.

We even got to visit the state of the art recording studio in Technological University of the Shannon, Athlone.
