IMYO are always on the lookout for new members across all sections of the orchestra! Auditions are held annually each summer, but interested musicians are welcome to get in contact at any time of the year. All members pay an annual subscription fee.

The orchestra rehearses once a month during the academic year, with two day tuition courses in winter and summer, normally in Tullamore or Mullingar. There are 3 to 4 performances each season, as well as occasional national and international trips.

The orchestra’s programme is typically highly varied, maintaining a core of classical repertoire, while also playing film music, pop/rock, contemporary, and a particularly strong focus on traditional Irish music.
